FRANCISCO LÓPEZ
Solo Flute and Composer
Francisco is the Principal flute of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and he is the Residence Artist of the Orquesta de Extremadura in this season 2019-2020.
In 2015 he won 4 prizes at the prestigious competition “ARD-Musikwettbewerb” in Munich. Since then, he has been very active playing as a soloist, recitals and chamber music.
He also often gives masterclasses at Barrat Due Music School in Oslo, Gothenburg University, Conservatorio Superior de Badajoz, Conservatorio Superior de Aragon, Conservatorio Superior de Granada and ESMUC in Barcelona.
He has been a guest principal flute at Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orquestra de Cadaqués, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony, Swedish Radio, Sidney Symphony, Den Norske Oper & Ballett, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Frankfurter Museumsorchester and Liceo Orchestra in Barcelona, to name some.
Francisco is not only a flute player, but a composer. He has written a few pieces for solo flute like “Mangata for solo flute” and “El Bailaero de las Gitanas” for flute, narrator and Orchestra. He has written the compulsory piece for the Spanish Flute Competition in Malaga 2020 “Mononoke-Hime”, which was comissioned by the competition.
